Get!Downtown is a unique event designed to celebrate and showcase Downtown Lynchburg and area colleges and universities.

Back for its fourth year, Lynchburg’s most popular street festival, Get!Downtown, will take place in downtown Lynchburg on Friday, September 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The festival features downtown cultural organizations, merchants, restaurants and retailers and showcases the very best of Downtown Lynchburg and our local colleges and universities!

Visit downtown stores and restaurants
Shop area vendors and crafters
Main Street closed from 13th Street to 8th Street
Meet students at other schools.
Face painting, caricature and balloon artists, stilt-walking and dance
Main Stage with street musicians performing all along Main Street
Downtown restaurants and food vendors
Free, family-friendly and open to the general public
Thousands of people!

Main Street will be closed from 13th Street to 8th Street from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Transportation & Parking

Click here for Public Parking Options in Downtown Lynchburg. This link will provide you with a link to a PDF. On-street and off-street public parking is free and available to the public after 5:00 or 6:00 (note signage).

GLTC buses will transport students to/from college campuses throughout the night. Buses will drop off and pick up students at the intersection of Commerce Street and 12th Street. Click here for the printable bus schedules from campuses.
